01. DESIGN PROCESSWe designed a charming home for a Parsi couple that seamlessly blends their beautiful vintage furniture with modern aesthetics. The goal was to create a space that harmonises old-world charm with contemporary elegance. The home features ample open areas for their two children to play, ensuring both safety and fun. We incorporated tranquil zones where the grandmother can recite in peace, surrounded by luxurious yet understated design elements. The result is a serene, sophisticated home that honours the clients' heritage while embracing today's lifestyle.
This beautiful residence is located at Kalpataru Avana in Parel, Mumbai. With a carpet area of 2400 square feet, no structural changes were made to this apartment.
02. CONCEPTThis home seamlessly blends vintage elegance with contemporary sophistication. The grand entrance features a six-layer laser-cut veneer trellis door. Inside, a multifunctional space with sliding black profile glass doors serves as a children's play area by day and a guest room by night. The living room combines English elegance with modern accents, highlighted by white moulding panel walls and vintage wood furniture. The master bedroom boasts a luxurious four-poster bed, vintage study area, and a walk-in wardrobe leading to a lavish bathroom. Throughout, vintage elements and modern designs create a timeless, adaptable, and luxurious living space.
01.Design Process
This home blends vintage elegance with contemporary sophistication. The grand entrance, featuring a panel wood door with a laser-cut veneer trellis, sets an inviting tone. A palette of wood, glass, and fabric creates warmth throughout. The multifunctional space with sliding glass doors combines modern materials with vintage pieces like a Parsi cabinet, adding versatility and charm. The living room's white moulding panel walls, vintage wood furniture, and contemporary lighting exude refined English ambiance, while the dining area's custom black bar and old cabinet blend modern and classic elements.
02.Results/Outcome
The result of this design project is a serene and sophisticated home that masterfully balances luxury and elegance with playful and functional elements. Each room uniquely interprets the overall theme, blending classic and contemporary styles. The English-themed living room, with its white panel walls, vintage wood furniture, and contemporary lighting, creates a refined and eclectic atmosphere. The kids' room, featuring playful pastel colours and whimsical fibreglass characters, adds a touch of youthful exuberance. This balanced fusion of traditional and modern design elements showcases a willingness to experiment while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic narrative. The outcome is a harmonious and inviting living space that honors the clients' heritage and meets their modern lifestyle needs, leaving them delighted with their timeless yet contemporary home.
