01. DESIGN PROCESS
The design process began with a thorough understanding of the elderly family's lifestyle and needs, prioritising comfort, safety and elegance to suit their unique requirements. High-quality, durable materials and finishes were chosen, incorporating classical elements like mouldings and refined textures for timeless charm. Furniture and decor were carefully curated to balance sophistication with functionality, including plush seating and a versatile sofa-cum-bed. Innovative features, such as a concealed bifold kitchen door adorned with artistic designs, and vibrant feature walls with murals, added a fresh and modern twist.
This home is located at Oberoi Realty's Enigma, Mulund, Mumbai.
02. CONCEPT
A vision blending English aesthetic influences with modern design principles was conceptualised, featuring a muted colour palette with vibrant accents for a serene yet dynamic atmosphere. Spaces were meticulously planned to be multifunctional and adaptable, ensuring accessibility and ease of movement for the elderly residents. The result is a home that seamlessly combines elegance with practicality, creating a harmonious living environment for the family.
This process began with detailed layouts and mood boards to bring the vision for each space to life, and close coordination with contractors and vendors to ensure precise execution. Attention to detail was paramount during implementation, from intricate wall mouldings to the seamless arrangement of furniture, maintaining smooth transitions between spaces while highlighting each room's unique features. Customisation was integral, with furnishings crafted to reflect the English-inspired aesthetic, while innovative touches such as the bifold door disguised with artwork added a creative flair.
The result is a home that seamlessly combines functional elegance with aesthetic appeal, showcasing timeless English charm with a modern twist. Multifunctional spaces cater to the family's diverse needs, ensuring comfort, practicality and ease of use. A cohesive design language unites the interiors with a muted, harmonious colour palette, enriched by vibrant accents and artwork that bring character and energy. The living and dining areas serve as elegant yet welcoming spaces for family gatherings, while thoughtful details, like the pink den and floral murals, add personalised touches for relaxation and creativity. Bedrooms are designed as tranquil retreats, prioritising well-being and accessibility to suit the elderly residents' needs. This perfect blend of classic sophistication and contemporary freshness creates a harmonious, refreshing and enduring living environment for the family.
